REXBURG, Idaho — Academic advising for both PathwayConnect and Brigham Young University-Idaho online students will now be under the same administrative structure. This change will allow for  more strategic and cohesive advising efforts given that approximately 80 percent of former PathwayConnect students make the transition to a BYU-Idaho online program.

Steve Thomas has been promoted from Pathway advising coordinator to the online advising manager of both PathwayConnect and BYU-Idaho Online. “Pathway & online advising will now work together more closely,” Thomas said. “We aspire to ensure that the transition for PathwayConnect students who matriculate to the BYU-Idaho Online Degree Program is one that is smooth and where students are supported with a comprehensive advising influence.”

Promoting better communication between PathwayConnect and BYU-Idaho’s online programs, Thomas will report directly to Jill Evans, Career and Academic Advising director at BYU-Idaho, while still maintaining open collaboration with Pathway.
